Bonnie Tolley from Mill Bay Veterinary Hospital kneeling beside a black dog

Bonnie Tolley

Animal Health Technician

I graduated from Thompson Rivers University in 1991. I have always had a strong interest in veterinary medicine, with a great desire to help improve the lives of animals. I did my technician practicum at Mill Bay Vet Hospital in 1991 before graduating and was offered a full-time position as an RAHT. MBVH allows me to utilize and build on all of my skills as an AHT, even after all the years, I have been here.

An area of the veterinary industry that interests me is microbiology has always been a particular interest of mine, ever since I was introduced to it in school. Anesthesia, dentistry, and clinical pathology are others to name a few.

What I love most about my job is that we do a wide variety of procedures with a team of very experienced large and small animal veterinarians and the opportunity to expand my own knowledge and skills is excellent. Our good clients are a plus. My favourite thing about our hospital is that we have a very dedicated, and knowledgeable team to work with. Our recently renovated facilities are a pleasure to work in.

Fun fact about me I am horse crazy- 6 in total. My first pet was a border collie named Tippy. She went everywhere with me on my horse.
